.: Residency Aims

I will be living at Bendrigg Lodge from January 2012 as their artist in residence, with in this role i aim:

- To provide accessible, skilled workshops that allows people to forget their disability and be absorbed by creativity.

- To generate quality work that engenders feelings of pride, accomplishment and enjoyment amongst participants.

- To produce sensory and tactile work within the centre with which visitors, who may be visually or aurally challenged, may interact.

- To work with the surrounding community delivering workshops and increasing Bendrigg’s profile.

About Me

I am a glass artist with a passion for working with people, and creating beautiful and engaging objects.

I am driven by the desire to produce objects of quality and refinement that will intrigue the viewer. I aim to apply these principals to my workshops, supporting people and enabling them to achieve their best. I believe the arts have a gift in offering people a sanctuary, sense of achievement, confidence and purpose. I aim to make this accessible to all, providing workshops that allow all to participate, including those with disabilities.

I am an enthusiastic, motivated individual with a passion for life. I believe craft should be enjoyed and to do something because it is fun is a valid reason in itself.
